Users might sometimes see a message after authentication that says “We were unable to process your student validation because the SAML response from your institution does not confirm your student affiliation. As a result, the cart discount cannot be applied.”
The Student Discount for WooCommerce depends on the user 1) being able to authenticate at an in-scope institution, and 2) the institution’s identity provider releasing the required attributes. If the identity provider doesn’t release the ‘student’ student attribute, then the service cannot validate the user as a student. In this event, if a user contacts you requesting support, they need to be directed to the identity and access management team at their institution.
